Tenant Focus Group

By joining our Tenant Focus Group, you can help shape the services and policies that affect your community.

Why Join Our Tenant Focus Group? 

The Tenant Focus Group is designed to gather valuable insights and feedback from tenants on specific topics. This group will meet to discuss and improve services, feed into policies, and contribute to the overall performance of HCBS. Your input will influence decisions and help us better serve our community.

Eligibility 

Before applying, please check your eligibility: 

  • You must be a tenant named on the tenancy agreement. 
  • You cannot be in arrears or in breach of any aspects of your tenancy with us.

Key Responsibilities 

You will need to: 

  • Attend meetings focused on specific topics or issues relating to HCBS. 
  • Be able to communicate effectively and constructively and interpret a variety of information. 
  • Develop effective working relationships with your fellow Tenant Focus Group members. 
  • Engage in discussions, providing thoughtful and feedback.

Personal Specification

Please note that previous experience is not essential. We are looking for a tenant who is comfortable working online and can attend meetings in person. It would be helpful if you have any of the following skills, but not to worry as we will provide training: 

  • A strong empathy with and commitment to HCBS’s social purpose. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Ready to listen, understand different perspectives, and contribute positively to discussions. 
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with other group members and HCBS staff. 
  • Comfortable with reading documents electronically and participating in online or in person meetings. 

Commitment

  • It is important you can meet the time commitment, which is around 1 to 3 days every three months. This will include attending meetings and reading time, and any training, away days, and other possible events. 
  • Willing to participate in group discussion and provide constructive feedback about the specific topic.

What’s next? 

If you are shortlisted for the role, further information will be sent out to you, and you'll be invited to an informal interview with the Board Chair and Company Secretary. We will give you 2 – 3 weeks' notice of the date.
